Terms
Terms of use
Last updated 2 November 2026
These terms apply when your organisation creates an account, buys a package or uses Evolv Up Competency Builder. By creating an account or paying for a package, you agree to them on behalf of your organisation.
About us
Competency Builder is provided by Evolv Up, a company registered in England and Wales (company number 17415350), Northampton NN3 3LL. Contact us at annekaspence@evolvup.co.uk.
Who can use it
Competency Builder is for organisations, not personal use. The person who creates the account confirms they're authorised to accept these terms for their organisation. One licence covers one organisation's internal use.
Contributors invited to an interview don't need an account and don't buy anything. The privacy notice explains how their answers are handled.
Packages and access
- Single Framework, £495: one framework.
- Five Frameworks, £1,995: up to 5 frameworks.
- Organisation, £3,999: up to 15 frameworks.
- Every package gives 12 months of access from the date of purchase.
- Contributor, document and word allowances apply separately to each framework, as shown when you choose your package.
- Starting a framework uses one of your package's frameworks.
- Finalised booklets and the implementation guide stay available to download after your access period ends.
Payment
Prices are in pounds sterling and are paid by card at checkout. Evolv Up isn't VAT registered, so no VAT is added. Your package switches on once payment is confirmed. Payments are processed securely by Stripe.
Refunds
- You can have a full refund within 14 days of purchase, as long as no framework has been started under that package.
- Once a framework has been started, no refund is available.
- To ask for a refund, email annekaspence@evolvup.co.uk from the email address on your account. Refunds go back to the card you paid with.
Your content
- You keep ownership of the documents, information and branding you add, and you're responsible for having the right to use them.
- Before inviting contributors, make sure you're allowed to share their contact details with us and let them know why they're being asked to take part.
- Please don't upload more personal information than you need. Organisation documents should describe roles and ways of working, not individuals.
Your framework and booklet
Your organisation may use, copy, adapt and share its finalised frameworks and booklets internally, during and after your access period. Evolv Up keeps ownership of Competency Builder itself, including its interview question bank, methods, design and the implementation guide, which you may use internally alongside your framework.
Frameworks are drafted with AI from your evidence and your organisation reviews and approves them. You're responsible for checking a framework is right for your organisation before using it. Frameworks support development conversations and talent planning. They aren't a substitute for professional HR or legal advice on decisions about individuals.
Fair use
Please don't share your account with other organisations, try to access information that isn't yours, interfere with the service, or use it for anything unlawful. We may suspend an account that breaks these terms, and we'll tell you why.
Our responsibility to you
We'll provide the service with reasonable care and skill. We aim to keep it available but can't promise it will never be interrupted, for example during maintenance.
Our total liability to your organisation is limited to the amount you paid for the package concerned. We're not liable for indirect losses, such as lost profits or business opportunities. Nothing in these terms limits liability that can't be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms and will show the date at the top of this page. Changes won't affect a package you've already paid for. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction.
